Folltank
Folltank is a stainless steel wine-pressing tank used to treat must with skins for red wines with quantities up to 30000 litres. It's highly suitable for thin-skinned grapes and it's the only system that, following the ancient tradition of wine-pressing, easily turns upside down and disgregates the must hat without producing dregs. The wine-pressing device is made of 4 cylinders with a very long run with funnel shaped, upside down conical plates. The high level of plate finishing and the shape of the shafts and surfaces prevent skins from sticking. Cleaning is made easy because no skins remain anywhere. The long cylinder run and plate shape, allow total mixing, since skins sink deeply into the must and make contact longer. Must hat breaks only during immersion. A Long cylinder run, also allows to press small must quantities, compared to total tank capacity. The shape of the plates, conical and with wide corners, produce a continuous and mild mixing of the must hat. When submerged, the hat, that is dry above, tends to break into small parts that rotate. These parts then go up and settle under the unmixed hat, but turned upside down in respect to its starting position. The fundamental difference between this system and others is the layout of the pressing plates. The plates cover most of the hat, without interfering any other parts. Skins and grape-stones are not squeezed, thus avoiding dregs and turbidity. Skins aren't broken and grape-stones immediately sink and lay on the tank bottom until emptying. Finally, the pressing plates can work diagonally, matched in pairs, producing a further mixing action. The possibility to program plate pressure, their sequence and their working schedule, turns Albrigi Folltank into a very powerful and flexible machine.
